Businesses, non-profit agencies, and governmental agencies located within the Municipal Service District (MSD) are eligible for marketing services provided by Wilson Downtown Development. The district is marketed as “Historic Downtown Wilson”.
These services are available to:
- Businesses, non-profit agencies, and governmental agencies with brick and mortar shops, offices, or restaurants located within the Municipal Service District (MSD)
- Businesses, non-profit agencies, and governmental agencies that lease commercial office space in co-working spaces*
- Businesses, non-profit agencies, and governmental agencies with brick and mortar shops, offices, or restaurants located within the MSD
- Businesses, non-profit agencies, and governmental agencies that lease commercial office space in co-working spaces*
- Property owners within the MSD
*Co-working space memberships that do not include dedicated desk and/or office space are not eligible for WDDC marketing services.
SERVICES include, but are not limited to:
- Destination marketing of all businesses within the Municipal Service Districts as Historic Downtown Wilson
- Listing in the HistoricDowntownWilson.com business directory
- Special events designed to engage the community and draw visitors to downtown shops, services, and restaurants such as Gig in the Park, Candyland Christmas, and Electric Light Fantasy
- Special promotions designed to draw potential customers and increase spending in downtown shops, services, and restaurants such as Bounce Back Bucks and the Downtown Dollars Egg Hunt
- Sharing of downtown businesses’ social media posts on Facebook
- Social media destination marketing of Historic Downtown Wilson on Facebook and Instagram
- E-newsletter highlighting business openings, new developments, events, attractions and current downtown news
- Calendaring of public events on the Historic Downtown Wilson Facebook page and ExploreWilson.com
- Marketing training and assistance
- Inclusion in the Downtown Commerce Group, a private Facebook designed to facilitate private, two-way conversation between Wilson Downtown Development and downtown stakeholders within the MSD
- Historic Downtown Wilson co-op programs such as:
- Historic Downtown Wilson OPEN flags
- Prime Media | Greenlight cable tv destination marketing
- Wilson Times newspaper destination marketing
